Major League Baseball announced the roster selections for the 2017 All-Star Game in Miami. Pirates second baseman Josh Harrison has been named to his second Midsummer Classic, as he will be one of the reserves to Daniel Murphy of the Washington Nationals.
After a couple of subpar seasons, Harrison returned to his 2014 form, his first All-Star year, posting an OPS of .818, along with a 115 OPS+. The on base percentage is currently a career best at .369, thanks in part to receiving 18 hit by pitches, the most in all of MLB. Harrison has a 2.3 WAR, which ties him with Daniel Murphy for best mark among NL second basemen.
