The Pirates have announced that Jameson Taillon will be activated off the disabled list to start Tuesday’s game versus the Milwaukee Brewers.
After missing two full seasons recovering from both Tommy John surgery and a hernia procedure, Taillon began this season with AAA Indianapolis and had outstanding numbers, as he put up a 2.04 ERA along with a WHIP of 0.81 and an 8.9 K/9 in 10 starts.
On June 8th, Taillon was called up to make his big league debut against the New York Mets at PNC Park. A couple weeks ago, he was placed on the DL with right shoulder discomfort. However, this was reportedly planned to limit his workload. Taillon has made five starts for the Pirates, posting an ERA of 3.86 with a 107 ERA+. No corresponding move has been made yet for his return, but my guess is that Chad Kuhl would be optioned to Indianapolis.
