By Jason Shetler

The Milwaukee Brewers have claimed Rob Scahill off waivers from the Pirates, this according to Stephen Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Pirates acquired Scahill in November of 2014 from the Colorado Rockies for minor league pitcher Shane Carle. He pitched well out of the Pirates bullpen last season, as he posted a 2.64 ERA and had groundball rate of 62% in 28 appearances.

Scahill began this year pitching for AAA Indianapolis where he had a 4.00 ERA in 13 games. He also made 15 appearances for the Pirates, posting an ERA of 4.41. Scahill was designated for assignment on July 3rd to make space on the 40-man roster for Eric Fryer.
