It was revealed today that Pirates’ infielder Jung Ho Kang is being investigated by Chicago police for a sexual assault claim that was made against him. The event in question is said to have happened last month while the team was in Chicago. The details get iffy and much more disturbing from there, so I’ll leave them out. If you want to check it out, click this article from the Chicago Tribune http://trib.in/29fmzcv
The Pirates released a statement on the matter which basically says that the team is aware of the investigation, the status of Kang is still the same, and they will respect the investigation by not commenting further, nor will anyone in the organization.
For the sake of everyone involved, we can hope these allegations are not true. Any time something like this happens, there is so much pain to go around everywhere. True or not true, the pain is still there for everyone. All we can do is let the investigation play out and see what happens.
