Trevor Williams has rejoined the Indianapolis Indians rotation, and will be starting tonight against the Pawtucket Red Sox, this according to Tim Williams of Pirates Prospects.
Williams was acquired by the Pirates last offseason from the Miami Marlins as essentially compensation for the Bucs losing pitching guru Jim Benedict. He came into this year rated the Pirates 24th best prospect by MLB Pipeline. Williams made his organizational debut with Indianapolis on April 10th, and had to leave that game with a shoulder injury. Last Sunday, he finished up his rehab stint with the Bradenton Marauders. With the injury setback, Williams probably won’t see a call up to the Pirates until August at the earliest.
