Pirates Minor League Report 5/26

AAA: Indianapolis defeated Rochester 5-2.

Chad Kuhl threw seven innings, allowed only one run, issued no walks and struckout seven. (97 pitches; 63 strikes) (1.03 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 6.7 K/9)

Josh Bell went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a walk and scored a run. (.297 avg, .860 OPS) 

Danny Ortiz also goes 2-for-3 and drove in a run. (.261 avg, .717 OPS) 

Adam Frazier and Willy Garcia each had an RBI double. (Frazier: .305 avg, .758 OPS) (Garcia: .240 avg, .641 OPS) 

 

AA: Altoona defeated Akron 3-2.

David Whitehead pitched 5.1 innings, giving up one run (unearned), walked five and had two strikeouts. (90 pitches; 46 strikes) (5.45 ERA, 1.97 WHIP, 4.8 K/9) 

Edwin Espinal goes 2-for-4. (.273 avg, .652 OPS) 

Harold Ramirez was 1-for-4. (.299 avg, .780 OPS)

Austin Meadows had a pinch-hit single and came around to score. (.224 avg, .660 OPS) 

Erich Weiss delivered a game-winning pinch-hit two-run single in the ninth. (.289 avg, .845 OPS)

 

High A: Bradenton defeated Jupiter 6-3.

Stephen Tarpley gave up three runs in five innings, walked two and struckout five. (83 pitches; 50 strikes) (4.74 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 8.5 K/9)

Kevin Newman had a two-run single, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored. (.346 avg, .858 OPS) 

Jerrick Suiter went 2-for-5 with a double and scored twice. (.258 avg, .630 OPS)

Connor Joe was also 2-for-5 and scored a run. (.235 avg, .639 OPS) 

Pablo Reyes goes 1-for-4 with a double and a free pass. (.248 avg, .679 OPS) 

 

Low A: Columbia defeated West Virginia 4-2. 

Mitch Keller pitches six innings, allowing four runs, one walk and striking out six. (89 pitches; 57 strikes) (1.94 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 10.2 K/9)

Ke’Bryan Hayes collected two hits including his fifth home run of the season. (.283 avg, .773 OPS) 

Ryan Nagle was 2-for-4. (.259 avg, .664 OPS)

Cole Tucker went 1-for-4 with a double. (.255 avg, .741 OPS)
