Pirates Minor League Report 5/14

AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre defeated Indianapolis 3-2. 

Jameson Taillon allowed three runs in six innings, walked one and had 11 strikeouts. (89 pitches; 57 strikes) (2.08 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 8.9 K/9) 

Alen Hanson was 3-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored. (.288 avg, .707 OPS) 

Pedro Florimon went 2-for-4 and scored a run. (.321 avg, .762 OPS)

Josh Bell goes 1-for-4 with an RBI single. (.280 avg, .801 OPS) 

 

AA: Altoona defeated Richmond 7-6.

David Whitehead pitches five innings, giving up four runs, issuing four walks and striking out four. (91 pitches; 49 strikes) (7.36 ERA, 2.28 WHIP, 5.6 K/9) 

Erich Weiss had a two-run double. (.270 avg, .827 OPS) 

Harold Ramirez collected two hits including an RBI double. (.287 avg, .726 OPS) 

Barrett Barnes went 2-for-4 with a run scored. (.258 avg, .682 OPS) 

Edwin Espinal was 2-for-5 with an RBI and came around to score. (.247 avg, .611 OPS) 

Jin-De Jhang delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the ninth. (.320 avg, .786 OPS) 

 

High A: Bradenton defeated Palm Beach 2-1.

Alex McRae pitched seven innings, allowing only one run, walked one and struckout four. (85 pitches; 58 strikes) (2.79 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 3.9 K/9) 

Connor Joe hit his second homer of the season. (.209 avg, .593 OPS) 

Elvis Escobar goes 2-for-4 and scored a run. (.266 avg, .663 OPS) 

Michael Suchy was 1-for-4 with a run scoring single. (.216 avg, .635 OPS) 

Kevin Newman also went 1-for-4 and walked. (.367 avg, .854 OPS) 

 

Low A: Lakewood defeated West Virginia 2-1. 

Dario Agrazal gives up just one run in seven innings of work, didn’t walk a batter and had three strikeouts. (70 pitches; 48 strikes) (3.09 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 5.6 K/9) 

Cole Tucker hits his first home run of 2016. (.200 avg, .600 OPS) 

Carlos Munoz was 2-for-3. (.226 avg, .658 OPS) 

Ke’Bryan Hayes goes 1-for-4. (.302 avg, .795 OPS)
