Pirates Minor League Report 5/13

AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre defeated Indianapolis 4-2. 

Frank Duncan threw five scoreless innings, didn’t walk a batter and struckout six in his Indians debut. (68 pitches; 48 strikes) 

Adam Frazier and Jason Rogers were both 1-for-4 and each drove in a run. (Frazier: .291 avg, .728 OPS) (Rogers: .306 avg, .910 OPS) 

Alen Hanson was also 1-for-4 and scored a run. (.272 avg, .680 OPS) 

Gift Ngoepe had a double and came around to score. (.207 avg, .568 OPS) 

 

AA: Altoona defeated Richmond 5-2.

Tyler Eppler pitched seven innings, allowing two runs (one earned), walked two and had three strikeouts. (86 pitches; 56 strikes) (2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 5.8 K/9) 

Harold Ramirez and Barrett Barnes each collected three hits. (Ramirez: .282 avg, .715 OPS) (Barnes: .247 avg, .669 OPS) 

Austin Meadows went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base and a run scored. (.175 avg, .459 OPS) 

Reese McGuire hit a game-tying RBI double in the ninth inning. (.220 avg, .614 OPS) 

Stetson Allie delivered a go-ahead two-run single as a pinch-hitter in the ninth. (.247 avg, .773 OPS) 

 

High A: Bradenton defeated Palm Beach 13-1. 

Austin Coley allowed just one run in six innings, walked one and struckout three. (85 pitches; 45 strikes) (4.08 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 6.4 K/9) 

Taylor Gushue was 4-for-5 with a double, a pair of RBI’s and had two runs scored. (.253 avg, .673 OPS) 

Chase Simpson goes 4-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI’s and a pair of runs scored. (.311 avg, .932 OPS) 

Kevin Newman also went 4-for-6 and scored twice. (.371 avg, .862 OPS) 

Jerrick Suiter had three hits with an RBI and scored a pair of runs. (.273 avg, .651 OPS) 

Jordan Luplow was 2-for-4 with two RBI’s and came around to score. (.212 avg, .651 OPS) 

Kevin Kramer went 2-for-5 with an RBI and scored two runs. (.282 avg, .709 OPS) 

 

Low A: Lakewood defeated West Virginia 4-1.

Bret Helton lasted just three innings, giving up four runs (two earned), walked a pair and had two strikeouts. (75 pitches; 38 strikes) (5.40 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 6.6 K/9) 

Daniel Arribas goes 2-for-4 and drove in the only run for the Power. (.242 avg, .818 OPS) 

Casey Hughston went 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. (.149 avg, .448 OPS) 

Carlos Munoz was 1-for-3 and drew a walk. (.214 avg, .640 OPS)
