Pirates Minor League Report 5/9

AAA: Syracuse defeated Indianapolis 3-2. 

Jameson Taillon gave up three runs in seven innings, walked one and struckout six. (99 pitches; 65 strikes) (1.69 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, 7.8 K/9) 

Alen Hanson was 1-for-4 with a solo home run, his second of the year. (.271 avg, .703 OPS) 

Cole Figueroa also hit his second homer of the season. (.372 avg, .968 OPS) 

Josh Bell went 1-for-3 with a double. (.291 avg, .840 OPS) 

 

AA: Trenton defeated Altoona 6-2.

David Whitehead lasted just two innings, as he allowed six runs while walking seven batters. (72 pitches; 26 strikes) (7.40 ERA, 2.34 WHIP, 5.2 K/9) 

Erich Weiss collected two hits including an RBI double and a walk. (.295 avg, .896 OPS) 

Edwin Espinal also had an RBI double. (.250 avg, .639 OPS) 

Reese McGuire went 1-for-3 and drew a free pass. (.222 avg, .627 OPS) 

Jose Osuna was 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. (.271 avg, .780 OPS) 

Austin Meadows goes 1-for-5 with a double and also scored a run. (.174 avg, .467 OPS) 

 

High A: St. Lucie defeated Bradenton 4-1. 

Alex McRae pitched four innings, giving up four runs, walked two and didn’t record a strikeout. (68 pitches; 37 strikes) (3.79 ERA) 

Taylor Gushue had three hits, one of which was a double. (.359 avg) 

Jerrick Suiter goes 2-for-4. (.184 avg) 

Connor Joe was 1-for-4 and drove in the only Marauders run. (.196 avg) 

Pablo Reyes also went 1-for-4 with a double and came around to score. (.262 avg) 

 

Low A: West Virginia defeated Hagerstown 4-0.

Mitch Keller tossed six shutout innings, allowed just one walk and fanned eight. (0.79 ERA, 0.59 WHIP, 11.1 K/9) 

Tito Polo was 2-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored. (.290 avg, .854 OPS) 

Carlos Munoz drove in a pair of runs. (.213 avg, .648 OPS) 

Ke’Bryan Hayes had an RBI double and scored a run. (.323 avg, .837 OPS) 

Cole Tucker went 1-for-3 with a double and also came around to score. (.286 avg, .714 OPS)
