Steven Brault Leaves Game with Ankle Injury

By Jason Shetler

Steven Brault left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury after running down the first base line, this according to John Dreker of Pirates Prospects.

Brault had pitched three scoreless innings against the Louisville Bats before injuring his ankle on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the third inning. The Pirates #17 prospect in the system has been pitching terrific for the Indianapolis Indians, as he’s posted a 2.70 ERA with a strong 12.0 K/9 and holding opponents to a .245 average in six starts. Hopefully the injury to Brault isn’t serious, and he’ll at least miss his next outing.
