Pirates Minor League Report 5/1

AAA: Indianapolis defeated Norfolk 4-0.

Tyler Glasnow pitches five scoreless innings, walked five and fanned seven. (91 pitches; 56 strikes) (2.08 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 12.8 K/9) 

Jake Stallings had a two-run double. (.224 avg, .520 OPS) 

Danny Ortiz was 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run. (.263 avg, .690 OPS) 

Cole Figueroa went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored. (.375 avg, 1.000 OPS) 

Jung-Ho Kang appeared as a pinch-hitter and had a sac fly RBI.

 

AA: Akron defeated Altoona 3-2 in 12 innings. 

Tyler Eppler allowed two runs in five innings, walked three and struckout six. (89 pitches; 55 strikes) (3.38 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 7.1 K/9) 

Edwin Espinal went 2-for-5 including an RBI double. (.283 avg, .724 OPS) 

Erich Weiss hit his second homer of the season. (.288 avg, .888 OPS) 

Barrett Barnes was 1-for-5 with a double. (.233 avg, .620 OPS) 

Jose Osuna also goes 1-for-5 with a double and came around to score. (.263 avg, .793 OPS) 

 

High A: Jupiter defeated Bradenton 2-1. 

Yeudy Garcia put up six shutout innings, walked one and had six strikeouts. (79 pitches; 53 strikes) (3.72 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 10.4 K/9) 

Jeff Roy collected a pair of hits. (.333 avg, .773 OPS) 

Chase Simpson was 1-for-4 and drove in the only Marauders run. (.234 avg, .682 OPS)

Jordan Luplow also went 1-for-4 and scored a run. (.178 avg, .575 OPS) 

 

Low A 

Game 1: Asheville defeated West Virginia 4-2. 

Dario Agrazal gave up four runs in just one inning of work. (30 pitches; 18 strikes) (4.05 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 5.4 K/9) 

Christian Kelley and Logan Ratledge were both 2-for-3. 

Carlos Munoz and Daniel Arribas each had a solo home run. 

 

Game 2: Asheville defeated West Virginia 6-1. 

Bret Helton threw five innings, giving up four runs, walked one and struckout three. (75 pitches; 47 strikes) (5.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 6.9 K/9) 

John Bormann went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. (.346 avg, .875 OPS) 

Ryan Nagle goes 1-for-3 with a double. (.263 avg, .699 OPS) 

Ke’Bryan Hayes was 1-for-2. (.333 avg, .798 OPS)
