Pirates Minor League Report 4/30

AAA: Norfolk defeated Indianapolis 5-1. 

Chad Kuhl tossed six scoreless frames, walked two and struckout three. (81 pitches; 52 strikes) (1.31 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, 7.6 K/9)

Adam Frazier and Willy Garcia both went 1-for-2 and each drew a pair of walks. (Frazier: .328 avg, .865 OPS) (Garcia: .233 avg, .655 OPS) 

Dan Gamache was 1-for-3 with a run scored. (.333 avg, .862 OPS) 

Jung-Ho Kang goes 1-for-4. 

 

AA: Akron defeated Altoona 10-3.

Clay Holmes allowed seven runs (six earned) in just 2.2 innings, walked three and had three strikeouts. (66 pitches; 37 strikes) (6.08 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, 5.0 K/9)

Chris Diaz had two hits and scored a run. (.245 avg, .657 OPS) 

Jose Osuna went 1-for-3 with an RBI. (.267 avg, .805 OPS) 

Anderson Feliz was 1-for-4. (.265 avg, .692 OPS) 

 

High A: Jupiter defeated Bradenton 6-3.

Colten Brewer pitched five innings, as he gave up four runs (two earned), walked one and struckout three. (82 pitches; 51 strikes)  (3.60 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, 7.9 K/9) 

Jerrick Suiter went 3-for-4. (.192 avg, .487 OPS) 

Kevin Newman collected two hits including his first home run of the season. (.360 avg, .870 OPS) 

Elvis Escobar was 2-for-4 and scored a run. (.224 avg, .592 OPS) 

Taylor Gushue also goes 2-for-4. (.305 avg, .835 OPS) 

 

Low A: West Virginia/Asheville was postponed due to rain.
