Baseball America has Pirates Taking Pittsburgh Area Outfielder with First Round Pick

By Jason Shetler

Baseball America recently came out with their 2016 MLB mock draft. Alex Kirilloff, a Pittsburgh area native, is projected to be the Pirates first round selection.

Kirilloff is a 6’2, left-handed hitting outfielder from Plum High School in Pittsburgh. Perfect Game USA mentioned Kirilloff as someone that has big potential with the bat and ridiculous power. He currently has a commitment to play at Liberty University. The Pirates will have the 22nd overall pick in this year’s draft. BA rated Kirilloff as the 27th best draft prospect, so it’s certainly possible that the Bucs could choose him as a first rounder.
