The Pirates traveled to Sarasota today to face the Baltimore Orioles and were defeated in walkoff fashion by a final score of 6-5.
Jon Niese threw six innings and while surrendering four runs.
Jorge Rondon pitched the seventh and gave up a home run to J.J. Hardy.
Eric O’Flaherty had a scoreless eighth, but allowed the winning run in the ninth.
Matt Joyce went 2-for-3 including a solo homer and an RBI single.
Michael Morse was 2-for-2 with a double.
Cole Figueroa goes 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base and a run scored.
Chris Stewart and Danny Ortiz both collected two hits.
Pedro Florimon had a two-run triple.
The Pirates will be in Fort Myers to square off against the Boston Red Sox tomorrow at 6:05 ET.
