The Pirates were victorious today over the Detroit Tigers in Bradenton by a final of 9-5.
Gerrit Cole made his Spring debut going two innings and allowed a pair of solo home runs, one of which to former Pirate Casey McGehee. Cole topped out at 94 mph on the fastball.
Rob Scahill went two innings and gave up a run.
Tony Watson allowed a two-run homer in his one inning.
Starling Marte was 2-for-3 including a three-run homer.
Elias Diaz went 2-for-4 and had a two-run home run.
Josh Harrison had a pair of doubles and came around to score.
Jason Rogers was on base three times with two walks and a single.
Danny Ortiz had an RBI double.
The Pirates are going to be in Fort Myers tomorrow to face the Boston Red Sox at 1:05 ET.
