After losing to the Tampa Bay Rays in Port Charlotte yesterday, the Pirates turned the tables on the Rays today in Bradenton, as they came away with a 4-3 victory.
Juan Nicasio tossed three shutout innings while striking out three.
Mark Melancon and Chad Kuhl each went a scoreless inning.
Tony Watson gave up a solo homer in the fifth.
Steven Brault allowed two runs pitching the sixth inning.
Andrew McCutchen blasted his first home run of the Spring.
Cole Figueroa collected two hits including a double.
Alen Hanson drew a pair of walks.
Harold Ramirez was 1-for-2 with a double.
Adam Frazier also went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
Elias Diaz had an RBI single.
Gift Ngoepe delivered the go-ahead run in the eighth inning.
The Pirates will be in Lakeland tomorrow to face the Detroit Tigers at 1:05 ET.
