The Pirates hosted the Boston Red Sox today and were on the losing end of a 6-2 final.
Ryan Vogelsong allowed three runs in his three innings of work. He gave up a two-run homer, which was wind aided.
Mark Melancon pitched a perfect fourth inning while striking out the side.
Arquimedes Caminero gave up two runs in his one inning.
Eric O’Flaherty went a scoreless inning and struckout a pair.
Harold Ramirez and Adam Frazier were both 2-for-2.
Starling Marte was 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
Gregory Polanco also went 1-for-2.
Alen Hanson and Francisco Cervelli were each 1-for-3.
The Pirates will travel to Port Charlotte, as they’ll take on the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow at 1:05 ET.
