The Pirates and Toronto Blue Jays were involved in a high scoring affair today in Bradenton with the Bucs being on the losing end of a 10-8 final.
Jon Niese worked two innings and allowed four runs. Niese shouldn’t have given up any runs, as a Jason Rogers misplay at third base in the second inning with two outs led to the four run output by Toronto.
Ryan Vogelsong pitched a pair of scoreless frames.
Tony Watson put together a scoreless fifth inning.
John Holdzkom gave up three runs and wasn’t able to get out of the sixth inning.
Michael Morse had an RBI double and also walked.
Willy Garcia went 1-for-2 with a double.
Jordy Mercer and Max Moroff were both 1-for-2 and scored a run.
Josh Bell delivered a two-run double and came around to score.
Harold Ramirez was 2-for-2 including a double and scored a pair of runs.
The Pirates will host the Minnesota Twins tomorrow at 1:05 ET.
