Pitcher Dovydas Neveraukas has been given an invitation to Major League Spring Training by the Pirates, this according to mister-baseball.com.
The Pirates signed Neveraukas as an amateur back in 2010 out of Lithuania, which isn’t exactly a hotbed for baseball talent. The 23-year-old righty spent last season pitching for both Low A West Virginia and High A Bradenton, posting a 2.64 ERA along with a WHIP of 1.19 in 30 games pitched. Neveraukas has a good fastball, as he can reach 95 mph with it. He should begin this season back in Bradenton where he’ll likely be used as a swingman.
