According to Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, the Pirates have agreed to terms with Neftali Feliz on a one-year deal worth $3.9 million, pending a physical.
Several years ago, Feliz was one of the best young relievers in the American League. The 2010 AL Rookie of the Year wasn’t able to get on track last season. Combined with the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers, Feliz posted a 6.38 ERA, which is very misleading. His Fielding Independent Pitching was much better at 4.05 while his BABIP was on the high side at .349. Feliz still shows great velocity on the fastball at 94.6 mph. The signing just adds another power arm to an already deep bullpen.
