Pirates minor league pitcher Clario Perez has violated MiLB’s Drug Prevention and Treatment Program for the drug Stanozolol, and will now face the consequences of an 80 game suspension.
Perez signed with the Pirates back in 2009 out of the Dominican Republic. The 23-year-old right-hander made 44 appearances this past season for both High A Bradenton and AA Altoona, posting a combined 2.65 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP. Perez has put up a 3.69 ERA along with a WHIP of 1.24 in 167 games pitched during his seven seasons in the Pirates system.
