The Pirates are now expressing interest in free agent second baseman Daniel Murphy, this according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.
Murphy spent the first seven years of his career with the New York Mets. The 30-year-old hit .281 along with a .770 OPS and a 113 OPS+ in 130 games this past season. Murphy had himself a postseason to remember in 2015, hitting seven home runs while posting an OPS of 1.115. The Los Angeles Angels and Washington Nationals have also been linked to him as well.
