The Pirates and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim had discussions involving veteran left-hander C.J. Wilson, this according to John Perrotto.
The Angels are reportedly putting the two-time All-Star on the trading block this offseason. Wilson was limited to 21 starts in 2015 with an elbow injury, which required surgery in August. Despite the injury, he still had a decent season with a 3.89 ERA and a 1.4 WAR. Wilson is owed $20 million entering the last year of his contract, so the Angels would certainly have to take on at least half of that remaining salary for the Pirates to have serious interest.
