According to John Dreker of Pirates Prospects, Hunter Morris, Josh Wall and Steve Lombardozzi have decided to elect free agency.
Morris was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in April. The left-handed hitting first baseman was the Brewers Minor League Player of the Year in 2012. Morris had a very dismal season this year with AA Altoona and AAA Indianapolis, as he hit just .141 with a meager .364 OPS in 50 games total.
Wall signed with the Pirates on a minor league deal. The 28-year-old right-hander made 29 appearances this season with Indianapolis, posting a 2.70 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP and a 9.1 K/9. The Pirates called up Wall in August as an extra reliever, but he was never used.
Lombardozzi was dealt to the Pirates from the Baltimore Orioles in February. The switch-hitting utility man spent most of 2015 with Indianapolis where he posted a .347 on base percentage in 97 games. Lombardozzi played briefly with the Pirates, and was hitless in 11 plate appearances.
