Jung-Ho Kang Suffers Torn MCL and Fractured Tibia

By Jason Shetler

Jung-Ho Kang will undergo surgery for a torn MCL and fractured tibia, which will end his season, this according to Dejan Kovacevic of DKPittsburghSports.com.

Kang signed with the Pirates out of Korea on a four-year deal this past offseason. The 28-year-old infielder certainly had a phenomenal rookie season this year for the Bucs, as he batted .287 along with an OPS of .816 and a 4.0 WAR in 126 games played. Kang was given National League Rookie of the Month honors in July. Hopefully Kang will make a fast recovery, and be ready by Opening Day next season.
