According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Milwaukee Brewers will interview Pirates Director of Player Personnel Tyrone Brooks for their general manager position. Doug Melvin stepped down as Brewers GM in August after spending 13 seasons at the helm.

Brooks served as a Professional Scout for the Cleveland Indians prior to joining the Pirates organization in 2010. In September of 2011, he was named their Director of Player Personnel. Brooks is in charge of overlooking the Professional and International Scouting Departments, as well as assisting Pirates GM Neal Huntington. His most recent work has been signing amateur players from Asia, particularly out of Taiwan.
