Corey Hart Done for the Season

By Jason Shetler

The Pirates have announced that Corey Hart will not be rejoining the club as a September call up, and will remain on the 60-day disabled list, effectively ending his season.

Hart signed a one-year deal with the Pirates last offseason. The former Milwaukee Brewers’ All-Star was slated to be in a first base platoon with Pedro Alvarez. Hart struggled in 35 games with the Bucs, hitting just .222 with a .597 OPS. Hart was placed on the DL in late June with a left shoulder impingement. He appeared in 13 rehab games with AAA Indianapolis before being shut down.
