Pirates GM Neal Huntington announced on his radio show today that Charlie Morton will start Tuesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox.

Morton has been on the disabled list since August 17th with a sports hernia. He was able to make a rehab start for the Altoona Curve shortly before their season ended. Huntington mentioned that Morton looked really good in two recent simulated games.

If all goes well Tuesday, Morton could stay in the rotation and Vance Worley would likely be moved to the bullpen. Since the beginning of August, Worley has posted a 4.16 ERA and hasn’t been able to limit baserunners much with a 1.49 WHIP.
